was thinking there instead of coilovers I want to stick with the comfort and thinking getting some decent lowering springs...
which ones do you recomend?
You won't get comfort just swapping springs out for lowering springs, your dampers will be mismatched to the springs and the best you can hope for is for the ride not to get worse. I have H&R 40mm lowering springs and the ride is firmer but not crashier than stock, I will soon be switching dampers out for Bilsteins.
Nice alternative to coilovers is Bilstein B12 kit with Eibach Springs and Bilstein B8 Dampers is a good shout though. Many reviews of these being better comfort than stock. Kit is about £600.00
Or you can match some lowering springs of your choice to the B8's but I don't be
I've there is a cheap route to both better handling and improved comfort.
Yea, I want comfort, which means long travel, soft springs and low damping but also a low car with short travel suspension which will need heavy damping to prevent the reduced spring travel from running out. I also want to have a cake and eat it. GET A JAG.
I have the Apex springs. Its not too bad, obviously you have to still go slow over bumps, but you can feel the length on the shock as its not matched to the spring.
Had apex on mine and people seem to say they really bad but really wasn't they are a even 35mm drop Sewell which I preferred as others were more drop at the back so looked uneven.
Sold them to mate with a new 13 plate cupra and he is very happy made car drive better but still comfy
I find mine pretty much the same as standard, litte harsher over pot holes and speed bumps but pretty much the same bar that, loads less role but lets be honest if you want a great handling hatch the mk5 ibiza is not that.
