Just notice a huge scrach on my back passanger door :censored: ..... probley by a womans handbag running down the side of it!! I want to get it sparyed because that touch up paint is rubbish!! Whats the best way to go about it, is it taking it to a local garage or can i go halfords (or equivalent) and get the spray to do it myself?? At the same tip their are a few little marks here and there that would be nice to sort out!!

P.s I have a reb Leon MK2 and every time i wash it it has like tiny black specs of dirt which just wont come off unless i scrach at them... normal have 2 get the gf to do this with her nails.... any ideas?

thanks

if its not too bad try chips away or equivalent.
the black spots are probably tree sap picking up dirt or road tar this can easily be removed by a clay bar.

Had a simlar problem with my Zenith grey [ white van man did the whole side cost over a grand?@!] but the bodywork chap did say that some metalic colours do require the whole panel done otherwise it will stand out. Had some colour made up by Halfords but I have only used that around bottom edges?!. Cost for a door panel about £250 plus paint I would say. good luck. ...........................

Sounds like a clay bar would get rid of the specs of dirt. Meguiars Clay Kit is good. It removes above surface contaminants and restores a smooth surface to your paint finish It will easily, and instantly remove paint overspray, fallout and any other environmental contaminants making waxing easier and more durable. Did my wifes 307 a few years ago and was amazed out how quicly the tree sap and specs came off and how dirty the clay bar was!!

As for the Scratch try using a scratch remover first just to see if it will reduce the impact and if it is only a scratch in the clear coat it may well polish out.

I think i will get a clay bar 2moz then, found at with work i can get a discout using auto restore www.autorestore.uk.com/ bit like chips away but there more like a mobile body shop so going to seee what price i can get them to attend and get them to do my alloy scuffs at the same time
