hey jst got my 2.0 16v gti can anyone tell me what sort of bhp they have as i cant seem to find out and info would be great cheers damo.

Book is 150bhp, most I've seen are a lil over that.... mine was 158bhp standard

yeah thats right, 150 for 16 valve and 115 for 8 valve, although most of them are slightly over the 'standard' power.

Doe's anyone find the fact that everywhere seems to quote the weight of the mk2 2.016v GTI/Cupra (which in theory are diff weights depending on spec anyway) as 1120kg and the mk3 Cupra/R as 1119KG strange?

I would have thought the mk3, with its extra airbags and equipment would be a bit heavier, even on the assumption that the 2.0 lump would be a touch heavier, but again the mk2 has no turbo and intercooler pipework?

The Seat handbook states the 2.016v weighs in at 1100kg, the 2.08v 1045kg, allowingfor a bit of extra spec, sunroof, aircon etc I can well believe 1120kg, but the mk3 at 1119kg, nah.

my mates got a minted example of an 8v, totally standard and went on the rollers and came away wit 124bhp..

now unless the rollers are wrong - thats good!

well cant complain at that then ,thats the same as my pld 16 v clio lol now need new zorst and aif filter that should bump it up a little

mk3 must be heavier than that. The 1.8 engine IS heavier than the 2.0 16v.

Mine ran 161bhp with BMC induction kit and cat back exhaust

1084kg's as well by the way

My 16v has been weighed at 1050kgs - half tank, spare wheel & jack.

interested to hear what your source is?

the mk3 kurb weight is known to be optimistic, with fluids and a full tank its much closer to 1150-1200kg+driver

I mean with no mods - I put it in quotes showing that it was how it came from the factory. Subsequent mods are in my signature.
