Bike rack on a 1.8t

Anybody have any ideas, i tried a halfords high mount one on my car and the only issue is it pulls slightly on the part of the spoiler where the boot opens, would you be happy with this?

Anybody had a removable tow-bar fitted? i dont want the ugly towbar visible all the time.

Anybody with any other ideas? i know i can put it in my boot with the wheels off but its not nice or quick assembling thru axles front and rear on my bike.

Any sugestions would be a help, other than putting it in the car

In a word don't! I had a saris bones on mine and it managed to dent the sides of the tail gate where it goes past the rear window. I now put mine on the back seat and the wheels go in the boot

Dented the tailgate?! i have had a rack on other cars and no such problems, the halfords high mount only rests on the glass and the bumber where the tailgate shuts, the top strap is supported from inside where the boot shuts so the strap doesnt drag over the spoiler it just pulls on it from where the boot opens.

Hmm, may have to keep it inside the car then :-(

You can then get the thule proride 591

thats wot il use roof bars no worrys then bout the rack denting boot or the straps scratching the paint work
