Bit confused on warranty

Had my car for 8 weeks (Ibiza TDi Sport,53 plate) and have these problems developed

Took the car to a main dealer and reported the following

Power steering intermittently heavy
Dash lights intermittently flashing on and off
Misted up headlights and rear lights
funny noise on suspension

Got the following answers

Power steering intermittently heavy

Could be a dodgy wire, you'll have to pay if it is

Dash lights intermittently flashing on and off

Could be a dodgy wire, you'll have to pay if it is

Misted up headlights and rear lights

Not covered

funny noise on suspension

Should be ok with that one

On top of that I was told I would have to sign a form to say I would have to pay for the investigative work

Needless to say the car was not booked in and I left gobsmacked and speechless

WTF is this all about !!

Your car obviously is out of manufacturers warranty, so who is the warranty with? Was one provided when you bought the car? If so the warranty book should be able to answer most questions regarding what is and isn't covered.

It's a Seat one

think it's the official one you get with all used Seats (can't remember the name,I'll check when I get home)

Sod what it says in the book,I've only had the car 2 month, why should I pay [:@]

is it A main dealer or the one you bought it from ?

have a good read of the book and see whats covered as Seat's used warranty was known to be one of the best ones in reality

I had the same with the condensation in the lights and was told the same by the dealer that is was not covered. I took this no further as found out this is a common fault with seats.

Tip - they will try to pass the buck, you have to be pushy and demand they look at this at no cost to you. I had problems with my tyres, which they at first said tough, sold as seen, but then I had a right old go and then they met half way.

The dash lights is obviously a fault and they should def look at this.

Not much fun but half the time they hope you will go away.

I called the dealer regarding bad misting on my lights, and was told to provide photos so they can send to SEAT UK, and they will replace my lights and claim it back from SEAT UK
