Sorry to dig up an old thread but I couldn't find out what I wanted to know.

I've got a 2011 FR+ (so with Nav & the USB port below the stereo) and wanted to know if anyone has used a 64gb USB Flash Drive successfully?

I'm pretty sure it won't work - I think I found 32GB was the maximum supported, but I'm willing to be corrected.
I put my music on a 32GB SDHC card and spoken word (comedy etc) on a 16GB USB stick, so I have 48GB total and I can shuffle either media without hearing comedy in the middle of music and vice-versa... ;)

that's not a bad price for 64 gb .
only thing I would say is you would want to group your albums into folders , maybe like albums a-g h-m etc or you would end up scrolling for ages to find an album you want

As I mentioned above, the 64GB Sandisk I linked to definitely does work with the Leon original equipment (mine is a 2010 FR), it must be FAT32 format though - which it arrived as.

As for the sort order, I have a feeling that the ordering you see in the car is more to do with the order in which the folders and files were copied to the USB stick, happy to be corrected though.

The first stick I tried happened to be a no-name 32GB USB3 which didn't work but I later realised that it was formatted as exFAT, as it is a conventional size I've not bothered to test it as FAT32.

I've got a 64g Sandisc micro and a 32g card and both work fine. My HU does not support MP4's, had to convert every iTunes purchase to MP3 as I had it set to everything new being downloaded as MP4's.
An unnecessary PITA, but there ya go!

Alright martin ive tried my 64gd usb and it works fine no probs atall its a dane-elec , i only put a few albums on it to try but it had about 40gb of films on as well which it played the audio from fine so the head unit shouldn't have any trouble with the volume of data .

Its the file system governing whether the USB is working or not, I bet if you formatted a much larger HDD in to FAT32, it would work fine

Cheers mate, thanks for trying it for me.

I've ordered the SanDisk one you've got but in 64gb form for £20.80 on Amazon. The Kingston one was cheaper but loads of people complained about painfully slow write speeds!

Fingers crossed it should be here in a few days :)
