Bizarre ?

Why oh why, does the last quarter of the tank absolutely empty itself 10 times quicker than the rest of the time? I was driving home from work earlier, the fuel light comes on and within 10-12 miles I'm nearly empty. I wasnt driving like a loon, the mpg on the trip computer was reading roughly the same. I just don't understand and I'm a mechanic !!!!!!

Its something all mk2/cordoba drivers have gotten used to. Just a quirk in the design. After all these years owning the car and getting used to it, my fuel guage light no longer comes on at all when "low" now!

everytime you fill up, reset the trip...take note of how many miles you can do with a full tank...if i put £40 in i can usually get between 220 250 miles

ive managed 120 miles for 15 quid today its to do with the shape of the tank, it gets narrower the lower the fuel gets so empties quicker. eventually the fuel warning bulb will burn out

i filled her up yesterday, but forgot to reset the trip, but I went to northampton then coventry and home and done about 100 miles and the gauge only went down 1/4.
