Well if you just paint it , couple of months it will just flake off, you need to key the plastic for primer
We use 3m grey scotch or p600 sand paper wet then primer, flat again with p600 then few coats of black untill covered woth aerosol its best to do loads of light coats then 2 wet ones
Hope this helps :)

You can get gloss black enamel paint from halfords i think its 9005, great stuff as you don't really need laquare, i used it on my grill surround and on fog surrounds in the past, like others have said make sure you prep it first that way you will get the best finish.

More like, sand prime sand prime sand spray sand spray

You dont need to take all of the original prime off just the flakey bits and enough to key the new paint in

Just make sure you leave enough time between coats to let it dry

Grey primer is fine, if your painting silver for example and wanted it really bright you would use white primer.
The engine enamel I have is gloss, and as said no real need for lacquer because its enamel anyway.

Bringing up an old thread, thought that better than starting a new one.

Basically I'm doing the Cupra R rear diffuser and wondering if I could Gloss Black spray it myself and save £100? Has anyone done it or something simple and does it come out OK or should it just be done by a pro? I know how to use a spray can but worried out getting a good, shiny shiny finish. Would probably be using Halfrauds standard gloss black and grey primer.
