Love what you've done with the car. I've a 1.2 myself and was debating either selling it for a 1.9tdi or modifying it slightly.

Any updates at all?
Cheers for the words, it's come a fair way for a 1.2 considering my tight student budget! There are now a couple of minor updates.

- 9N Polo rear wiper fitted
- SEAT Sport number plate surrounds
- New drivers side window regulator
- New passengers side window rubber
- New OEM exhaust

I'll take some pictures next time it's washed, now that I'm back in the UK it needs a bit of tidying up!
Cheers :)

Has it been abused by your mum/sister? How are the alloys and clutch?
Certainly abused by mother.

Positives... clutch still good, bodywork good. The same can't be said for her Audi, she reversed into a wall. You know one of those that jump out and hit you

Negatives... window issues and new exhaust as mentioned, Cupra handbrake cover is knackered, alloys knackered, mum had a budget tyre fitted after a puncture [:@] and last but not least, a new knocking noise from the front suspension. Not inspected it yet but it sounds like the droplinks.

I wouldn't mind too much but all of this was fine when I left it and she only did about 8k miles in it! Now very close to hitting 50k miles.

Nothing too drastic but I am a perfectionist and I will sort it all out very soon.

Hope yours is running well Chris, you have one of the cleanest 1.2s on here.

Women!! Gahhh.. That's not good.

Cheers mate, mine's running like a dream. I've been doing lots of motorway journeys recently, uni to home and back.

If my insurance quote is reasonable enough in February I'm tempted to get an S2000

Glad to see your finally back in the UK Chris hope you have fun driving around again :)
Alex
Cheers Alex, just gonna take a look through your Mk5 thread, not seen anything about your new car yet ;)

Could soon be doing lots of motorway stuff myself, looking at moving to Bournemouth soon to continue studying... Manchester-Bournemouth runs could get particularly boring :(

Money aside (but still talking reasonable money) I've narrowed down what I'd like my next car to be, down to three. Either a Nissan 350Z, a VW Scirocco, or a Toyota GT86. But none of them are imminent arrivals...

VW Scirocco and Toyota GT86 are serious £! Sounds like someone's managed to plant a money tree

I'll be on a 6-7k budget for the s2k I think
I'll be looking at a second hand one, probably in about 3 years time - I hope. Hoping they'll have done some depreciating by then! I like the S2000, looks good and should be loads of fun. Never been in one but heard the odd one or two go by on full chat... it's a good noise.

In other news, new Cupra handbrake cover fitted to replace the one that mum broke. :)

How on earth did she manage to break a handbreak cover?! I've not been in one either, but I'm looking forward to screaming VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO! This is what I'm thinking:

My dad took me for a test drive in a Subaru BRZ (same as the GT86). It was a great car, but I think the GT86 is better as the rear end kicks out more whereas the Subaru understeers due to the setup.

God only knows... She claims it just fell apart. My ar5e.

Looks a great example of an S2000! Take one look at it and you can tell it's a very driver focussed car. I'll be honest if I bought one I think I'd have a complete love/hate relationship with it, VTECs usually need to be driven hard to deliver the power you want, but I'm lazy and would rather effortless power of a turbo. Think I'm getting old before my time.

Okay guys, praying for some good weather this week so I can go out and get some pictures :D

Been some big changes recently, some more nice mods in the pipeline too.

Trying to do as much as I can to it in the next month before I bugger off down south for the next few months and get my studying hat on again.

As promised... wheel refurb and facelift rear lights. This is how she stands today

Nice colour!

Love a bit of anthracite
Cheers mate, was concerned it might be a bit too dark but it seems to have come out okay :)
Wheel colour really suits the car. Fair play! Any plans to lower it?
Cheers Dave. I'd like to lower it but if I do, it's not going to be happening any time soon. Unless a spring or two crack, then maybe I could justify some lowering springs :p

Any updates on this? :)
Dave... This one's for you!

Was lucky enough to receive a present for my 21st... Private reg with my initials :)

And... A mod completed some time ago, only I've not been online to update...

Pop-out rear windows :D

Also coming very soon... Some pic whoring of its pre-winter protection detail.

It's also had a few cheap and cheerful mods, LED number plate lights, interior lights, gloss black B pillars etc

My personal life is requiring a lot of (studying) time at the moment, so progress is slow. But hopefully soon my exams will be done with.

Winter protection detail time!

This is how she started:

The whole process was:

- clayed with Bilt Hamber medium auto clay and Megs QD as lube
- rinsed
- dried using Raceglaze waffle weave drying towel
- polished with Menzerna PO203S on a yellow correcting pad, Sealey rotary
- polished with Menzerna PO85RD on a black finishing pad, Sealey rotary
- rinsed
- dried
- waxed by hand with 2 coats of Collinite 476S
- wheels washed with 4:1 mix Bilberry wheel cleaner
- wheels waxed with CG Wheel Guard
- tyres dressed with VP Traditional tyre dressing

Some pictures taken the next day

Excuse the rain drops on the quarter panel...

Some beading shots
