I changed my stereo last night for my aftermarket one. With the new kit came an aerial update and on it it had a blue wire obviously this is an earth and im presuming by connecting this to the orange and white wire of the back of the stereo I have installed it correctly but why is there one on there it's the first I have ever seen

So why would there be a blue wire on the aerial Adaptor that goes I'm bk of stereo what does it do

OEM units from memory had the booster built in?
when i changed the HU on our '99 mk2 Cupra, signal quality dropped but not enough to bother fitting an aftermarket booster, so possibily similar thing on Leon?

which wire the Blue aerial one goes to on HU, no idea apart from X referencing connectors?
different manufacturers will use slightly different colours, also may need to swap Live/Acc feeds over to retain memory

As ND has said, it's for the signal booster most likely.
Signal will be non existant or shite without it.

Already switched the yellow and red wires I had same stereo in my golf but never had that booster on aerial so it through me so if I connect it to yellow switched live it should get better signal.
