Bluetooth audio issue!

Hi All,

Good to be apart of the Forum, I have a small issue that i was hoping some of you may have ran into yourselves. i have a 2015 Leon FR 1.4 and when i stream my phone from my Deezer application it will play connect and play through the car but i cannot for the life of me get it to list the track/artist and i cannot skip tracks either.

Do you have any ideas, i have tried to dismiss permissions within the app and forget connectivity this made no difference any addition help would be very much appreciated.

Just to rule out issues with the car, have you tried it with other apps, like generic Music App and Spotify?

Hi yes I did try Spotify and YouTube music with still no luck. I had one positive result once when I opened Spotify first and it showed track / artist info and allowed me to change songs I then immediately opened Deezer and it was working on there also however I have never managed to get it to work again. Very odd.

Does your car have car play? My sister has a 2015 Leon with Car play.

I didhave this issue on my old Leon when connecting with bluetooth. The bluetooth feature didn't like me using apps outside of the standard music app. The solution for me was to make sure I had no other apps running before connecting to bluetooth. This would usually result in the Music App being loaded once the connection was made. I could then close it and open spotify and it would work as normal. (most of the time)

I also sometimes have the issue on my 2020 Cupra with car play. the solution for me there is to unplug the phone, close the app, turn the radio off/on. plug the phone back in and that usually fixes it.

Yes, 2015/16 I think was the year they started adding car play/android auto to the cars. It should be fairly obvious as the cars with "full link" only have two buttons on the screen and a usb port in the space under the climate control dials. Very few cars with carplay/android auto still had all the other buttons on the screen. I've only seen a couple on the forums. And only the new 2020 mk4 leon has wireless carplay.

By the sounds of it you are using the built in bluetooth feature anyway. I don't remember if I had my android phone when I got my frist SEAT or if I had an iphone by then but It was a sporadic issue throughout my ownership of the car. I'd rarely be able to get youtube to work on it's own, spotify was a little tempromental but the standard music app didn't usually have any problems.

Worst case scenario i'd say it's an issue with deezer's interactions with the car controls more than anything. Have yo tried it with soundcloud or mix cloud? or even prime audio?

Hmm, I don't have any usb port under the climate control on the dash and when i google images i can see this on any other leon's with the same layout as mine (5f)? I do have a 'media in' port in the glove compartment with a usb connection attached to it? im yet to see what this does.

If i had better results using my phone via usb or aux in etc then i would forget the issue with the bluetooth and use those as nothing seems to get it to show the track info or allow me to change songs when i use bluetooth, i will link a usb into this media in port later and see what this does when connected to my phone. and while im at it i shall check out prime audio etc and see if i get the same result via bluetooth.

On a side note if anyone has poor coverage with there DAB only picking up like 20 stations if that and they have managed to improve this i would be grateful for any info on this also. Its odd in the same location in my old vw up i had hundreds of stations but with this like 20?

No I do not I have read this has an impact on your dab signal however I do not have a dash cam making it more frustrating ?

Yeah, im not sure what might be causing that. From memory the DAB antenna is in the boot window. At least on my Sport Coupe model it was. It may also be in one of the side windows. You could try a digital radio app on your phone and see if you have any more luck with that. Could be that you are in a bad area for DAB. I don't get any DAB signal in some places along the commute to Norwich on the A11 for some reason.

As for the Bluetooth issue, I don't recall ever being able to view album art on the screen when using spotify. Album art only showed up when using the Music app, and even then, only if it was bought through itunes rather than adding tracks to my library from otehr sources. The song names etc still shwoed up on spotify though.

I wonder, do you have another bluetooth media device with a display you could try using deezer with? might rule out whether it is a car issue or a deezer issue.

Hi thanks again for the reply? So on my VW up it still connects to this no dramas so it defo a car issue.

I'm not fussed about album art showing it's just it not showing the track or artist info and not allowing me to change the tracks what's the big issue for me it sucks.

Bluetooth Problem solved! For anyone else who ever needs this i came across a social chat in Spotify and someone said to try changing the Bluetooth version on my phone as my phone as it is so up-to-date so will need changing from 1.5 to 1.4 you can do this by enabling developer options. Go into the setting and search AVRCP Bluetooth versions, then simply set the Bluetooth AVRCP Version to 1.4. jobs a good'n for now at least.

I still need to try and improve my DAB signal really not sure what's the issue here as my previous car had great dab station connectivity but now in the Leon next to nothing...... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers all.

Bit of a bump, but this sorted the issue on my wife's phone Bluetooth. My phone was working normal so was causing me a headache.
