Hi all, apologies if this is a repost, I am new to this forum and to SEATs in genera :help:l.

I recently bought a 2011 Leon SE Copa with integrated Satnav bluetooth etc. I have connected my phone to the system (Samsung Galaxy Note 2 running Android 4.3). Calls are going through fine however I am unable to control any of the phone aspects from the steering wheel. This includes voice recognition, general scrolling using the arrows on the steering wheel - none of it works. Any ideas ?

Also, my contacts are being displayed and sorted using Last name first - how can I change this?

My manual says my system is version 2.2 if that helps.

Many thanks in advance.

I don't believe this is possible via the steering wheel in 2.2, only in 2.0 and 2.1.

I sure someone will confirm.

I've just done a bit more research. My system is definately the Media system 2.2. I have noticed there are no phone controls through the menu you access using the multi function steering wheel.

Called up a main dealer who said it looks like it's a problem and that I need to book my car in.

Has anyone had this before?

2.1 is the system that doesn't work via the MFD both 2.0 and 2.2 do

Does the Phone button on the Media System work? A lot of this depends what module is fitted to the car and what software the Media system is running

Ok, I had a good look today. My manual states I have version 2.2 however when I started the system up, I've got 2.1 so that explains why I can't use the MFD. Can anything be done about this? Is 2.1 upgradeable, I've trawled through the forums and found it inconclusive.

2.2 has different hardware so can't be upgraded

Oh.... If it's not upgradeable to have voice dialling, can it at least be upgraded to have the phone controls in the MFD?

Afraid not

I had my unit replaced to a 2.2 as my 2.1 went faulty and I now have voice dialling and have full information on the MFD

Thanks LeonCR.

I've now read the posts about 2.1 vs 2.2. I believe my car was probably one that was advertised as 2.2 but got 2.1 (as I have the 2.2 manual) but the original owner wasn't aware of this.

I've now purchased this car from a SEAT dealer and was told that the car has full Bluetooth integration and that I would be able to control my phone through the steering wheel by the salesperson which since buying the car I have established that I can't.

I have booked the car in for next week at my local SEAT who over the phone agreed that something wasn't right (who probably are not aware about the whole 2.1 thing).

Where does this leave me as a used car buyer? I may have to opt for the 30 day "no quibble" policy.

As a used car buyer you should be able to get a full refund if the car is not as described, bear in mind even if they do swap your unit for version 2.2 they will need to do some basic coding to allow the MFD to be used

Its not difficult but i had to do it myself with Vag com
