Whilst not a lover of the Exeo bluetooth, not as good as the Altea system, it has generaly behaved itself, untill today, that is. The bluetooth keeps switching itself off, generaly when making a call, although can happen during call. After typically 5 mins it will restart, only to repeat the switch off/on every few minutes (usually) Although it can remain active for longer.
Its the same phone used for last 18 months, plugged into same charger (working) same 50 mile daily journey.

Any thoughts or suggestions, car has just had 30 k service, suspect ecu was flashed as I had complained about service warning not showing, and a couple of previous warning light issues. Turns out dealer had left battery terminals loose from new (show room vehicle), resulting in total power failure after stopping for fuel - AA found problem. Maybe no relevance but.......... Also found indicated fuel consumption has dropped, although starting to get back to previous indications, which I think I have read happens untill ecu learns driving style?

My new HTC legend keeps disconnecting, and I need to reboot the phone to bring connection back. But I think that's a problem with the phone, it crashes (the phone not the car) quite often when using bluetooth

Thanks for the replies, I must be suffering from dementia

Had this happen long while back, cured it by removing battery from phone for total reset.
Problem solved.

I have been impressed with the bluetooth system within the car.
My old iphone was fine and so was htc desire up until the last two weeks when ithas been disconnecting after 30 seconds and is driving me crazy.
Have just switched to microsoft exchange for email and I am thinking the necessary password may be the cause of the problem.
Definitely the phone and not the car as other phones still work fine.
If anyone has any suggestions it would be great.
Thanks

The bluetooth transmitter overheats on a lot of phones, they crank up the voltage to give good range but this frys the transmitter. On some phones you can get into the bios and reduce the bluetooth voltage and get less range but better reliability and battery life. At the end of the day you only need 1-2 meters of range not 50 meters.

I would put money on all of these bluetooth problems being the phones and not the car.

My HTC Desire HD would drop the bluetooth connection randomly. I later discovered this was because it was trying to connect to open wifi networks, which was somehow disrupting the bluetooth.

Downloaded an app called settings automator for android, which turns off wi-fi when the bluetooth is connected to the car and it solved the problem for me!

Don't know if your problems are the same, but it's probably worth a try.

Hey Newbie here
Having a few problems even discovering bluetooth on the exeo st!!
Have tried a few diffrent phones and nothing seems to be able to discover bluetooth??
Any Ideas???

Mark,

I have the bluetooth dropping issue too on my HTC Desire - but the Wi-fi isn't set to on.

Ill download that app and see what happens - thanks for the pointer.

I've managed (somehow) to fix the problem I was having with not being able to display the phonebook in the dash display.

I had another problem with my Deisre HD, where-by I couldn't send a text to certain numbers. After a quick google, it appears that the DHD uses the call-history to find the phone-number for 'contact' you want to send the text to, and the fix is to clear the call-history, so that the phone has to use the actual phone-book to find the number. I did this to fix this problem, and it sured the problem.

I'm not sure if it's coincidence, or not, but the bluetooth (phonebook) connection through the car now works to!!! ;)

So, if you've got the same problem with not being able to able to view the phonebook on the dash-display, try clearing the call history on the phone..... ;)

Interesting I run a HTC Desire with Cyanogenmod-7-05112011-nightly-desire, android 2.3.4 and will have to look at theses setting. ...........!!

You have got the ignition on I presume ? Bluetooth don't work with ignition off, I made that mistake when first trying to pair my phone!.

ignition is on! And i was told that there is Bluetooth on the car! Any thing i could look at to tell if there is Bluetooth on the car? Its the st sport! Haven't had the manual's yet awaiting delivery

Does your Exeo actually have bluetooth?
AFAIK ALL Exeo's have Bluetooth.

IIRC you just set the phone's Bluetooth to discover devices and you should see a device called SEAT_xxxx.
If that doesn't happen, and you can pair the phone OK with other devices, then it sounds like the Bluetooth is faulty on the car.

Ah!, its not one of the new ones with the PIONEER satnav unit instead of the normal Radio is it ? They have a different Bluetooth I think.

The O.E. Bluetooth ECU is located under the drivers (offside) seat

When i had i look at the car i found a pond in the back driver side footwell and then in drivers footwell???!!! not happy!! may be the cause of a lack of bluetooth if its being swimming around!! any suggestions on where the water came from??
