Bluetooth stuff - Sat Nav socket?

I'm now the proud owner of a 2013 Ibiza ST FR. It's a vibrant Azul Blue, which attracted me over every other car on the road which seems to be plain Jane silver. Unfortunately only a 1.2 TSI so it's not stupidly quick, but nice and lightweight so feels nimble.

The bloke in the dealership (an independent) did think it had Bluetooth but having searched through all the gubbins I can't really see how to do it.. I suspect I need to get a satnav thing that plugs in to the dash socket on the top?

Following. I have recently bought the 2 litre diesel FR and although there is a socket for the Sat Nav it didn't come with the car. £120 on eBay I am afraid!

Once you bought it did all the bluetooth features start working? Personally, I don't really like using Sat nav though they occasionally have their use. I read up on these things, it looks like it covers feature like engine temp and RPM etc and even "lap timing" though I'm not sure if some or all of these features are Cupra models only.

Sorry, but I haven't bought the Sat Nav yet, so I don't know! I know what you mean with the other features, and I have seen this on the display of Sat Nav's when looking online, so can only assume everything (including Bluetooth) will spring into action once the Sat Nav is put in. It makes you wonder why it would come with a Sat Nav but not be built into the dash. It seems a faff having to remove it from your dash to hide it away because it is as easy to steal as any other detachable Sat Nav device.

Yesh, my thoughts exaclty - you have to hide the pillar/post thing too, and perhaps even re-fit the cap. If there is evidence there might be a gadget tucked away in the glovebox, it's an invite (even though the gadget itself is not on display)

Ever thought of putting something over the fixing point on the dashboard? I have bought one of those little mats that you lay on the dashboard to hold gadgets in place on. A discreet way to hide the fixing point.

The fixing point has a little cap over it to keep the contacts clean, I wonder if it needs hinding to enhance security in a dodgy area? I wonder how many of the units on ebay have been nicked from a car?!
