Sorry to hear you've been having problems. I can't offer any advice on the 16V TDIs but can testify to them working problem-free on the ol'8Vs, hot and cold.

I'm sure Mike will be able to advise...

Works fine on my car. All i can suggest is check all the connection are tight, do a Vagcom check with the CDA unit on and finually put your old airfilter unit on and see if the problem goes away or not. Did you disconnect the MAF or get any shite on it while you where changing the filters over ?

Its sounds as though you may have not put the maf connection back properly , try putting it back with a small smear of electrical silicone and see if that improves it.
