ah... good call!! 
The intake size on your throttle body will be 50mm on the 1.4. And as its on the top of the engine you will need a 90 degree bend to start with an quite a long piece of pipe to take it over by the battery
yes i was either going to get aluminuim tubing made up for me or i was going to use the silicon hoses you guys use.. not sure which one will be cheaper.
with it being mounted at the top of the engine i was going to make a heat sheild also to stop some of the radiated heat surrounding the pipe to reduce heat problems. and i will take the air feed from the wheel arch where you cupras intake is as this seems to be a nice good pressure spot on the car.
45 degree 3" elbow cut down to size, then on the maf side it is was packed with smaller silicone tube to fit maf which is 2.5" but i dont have this set up any more due to catch tank
on other side from my pic it looks like its a 45 degree 2.5" bit of drain pipe which is pushed in and i also put black silicaset on it to make a nice seal and of coarse to make it look better

Id use a 51-63mm 90 degree silicone reducer elbow, then 63mm alloy tube to take it to the battery side then a silicone joiner to join onto the filter but would depend on the filter as to what size to get
here is mine looks loads shorter than yours with elbow 2?
what elbow size and angle have u used?

how is yours held in dan, yours looks to be the big one aswell! as i wanted mine to be straight thats the only reason i put an elbow in
