So I picked my 2009 Bocanegra up yesterday, and after a long day of driving it, my first impression is WOW! :D Super fun car!

My only complaints are it seems a little thirsty when driving flat out, the horn is pathetic and the DSG gearbox makes some clunky noises when uses the paddles sometimes, mostly downshifting to 2nd and 1st. (not sure if this is normal or a problem)

Car drives excellently though, and I really like the cabin noise under acceleration even though I know it's artificial sound, makes me feel like an excited little boy :p RACECAR! haha

The DSG gearchanges are seamless and allows the car to pull like a train. After having driven an automatic/semi for the first time I think I could safely say I'm a convert now.
I use the manual mode 90% of the time to feel more involved with the driving but put it in "D" for long journeys.

The exterior sound could be a bit more sporty though and match the cabin noise, so I think I'll be looking into getting a catback exhaust fitted soon. Also thinking some white/blue headlight bulbs for bungalow points.

I haven't driven the car in the dry yet because it's been absolutely p*shing it down here recently but after having pushed the car hard in the soaking wet, can say that it has fantastic grip! Only slips out a couple of times but generally keeps the line true.

Will post photo's up when the weather finally cheers up!!

What do you expect?? Its going to use fuel if you gun it. Haha as for the dsg its normal. Its a dry box so it is clunky - annoying but normal....... you could change the horn and take a look at the light bulb threads. Hope you enjoy it as much asi have in the cupra :) )

the cabin noise isn't artificial. Also i would listen to a cat back exhaust first as they sound terrible! a 1.4 will always sound like a 1.4 lol. Maybe try an air intake first, but lets face it who are you trying to impress? If it sounds good while driving it then why bother?

I think thats a really well put out mini review of the car. As said it will drink it when flat out- thats the idea, at least when your not hooning about unlike a bigger engined car you can get good economy figures. The DSG rattle is normal, you will hear it with windows down at low speed's too.

Looking forward to pictures. White Boc im guessing?

I like my custom exhaust, the clip of its sound on Youtube has 38,057 views with no dislikes. Not all 1.4s are equal.

The horn is quite weak. I think it returns around 5.8mpg when at full chat :D

I'm the complete opposite, I have it in D 90% of the time then pop it over to the right when I want to have some fun. Manual mode around town is a bit clunky and sluggish most of the time and D just does it so much better imo. Manual mode only really works when you're giving it the beans.

Welcome to the club, great little car. Have enjoyed driving it a lot over the last 2 years. Look unique on the road and you do get a lot of attention in it. Love the DSG too, I too am a 100% convert.
Will miss it when it goes in a few weeks :cry:

When you press the loud pedal it amplify's the cars engine note.

Jay

Which is why its not artificial, the bmw m5 is artificial as it adds a frequency over the speakers based off the engine noise.

It is all up to the opinion of what is artificial I suppose.
