Hi all,

Looking for some help and advice.

Info: 59 plate seat ibiza bocanegra, 13000 miles on clock, serviced twice since new.

Yesterday morning I drove my Boc to work around 10am and all was fine. At 12am I jumped into it to go down to the shop when I noticed the engine management light was on. So I turned the engine off and checked under the bonnet, oil dip stick appeared fine, anti-freeze was at an ok level and couldnt see any apparent signs of damage/ possible problems.
So I phoned up SEAT who told me aslong as the engine management light was only at amber the car would be fine to drive.
So off I went down to the shop, it drove ok but if the revs were to go over 2.500 there was no response from the car and it made such a loud "sucking" noise.

So last night when I was driving the car home I could hear the engine struggling, When pulling away from traffic lights the car was non responsive, I had to go up a gear if the revs were between 2.500 as there was no response and all I could hear was a loud sucking noise.

SEATS earliest date to see the car is Wednesday 21st Dec, has anyone got any suggestions or faced this kind of problem before ?

Any comments much appreciated.

Cheers
Graeme

The sucking noise you talk of is the exact same issue I had on mine, it only ever happened once but kicked back into life after dropping gear in manual - I don't know if it's a coincidence but mine was also a 59 plate and had around 12,500-13,000 miles on it when that happened

Drive a few miles from your house, "break down", phone Seat Assist and get the car recovered. At least you'll get a free hire care. Assuming you're covered by Seat Assist (who are brilliant, by the way).

Does it carry over to the 2nd owner? I got a 10 month old car and was not told anything about SEAT assist by the main dealer I bought it from.

Yes - it covers the car. Ours wasn't bought new and we've used them twice. My brother's a trader, he's used them to sort out problems with stock.

dont worry sly200sx, seat are doing whats called 'fixed price servicing' instead... you'll still get the roadside assistance and even if your dealer doesnt give u it, call my service department and i'll give u a code to set it up for ya :)

the roadside assistance is activated when the service is entered on VMS so what code are you going to give him ?
