I spent a while looking on a Corsa VXR website and it didn't seem like a simple remap to get them to 240BHP. There were also people having problems with engine reliability.

There is a video on youtube of a VXR corsa v the new Cupra from a rolling start and the Cupra pulls away from it. I think its probably down to the DSG. Both cars are standard to my knowledge.

there the GP's

they were a special edition, only 400 odd in the uk. they are only 2 seater as the rear is stripped out and come with a fancy rear wing ( which is over 2k on its own and the 218bhp supercharged lump.

There is one where I work and it's beautiful

Yes they are nice but the cheapest ones are still 14500 and a lot of people are realising you can go spend a 5k on a standard cooper s and then spend 3k on mods and get a better car.

The GP is too special to play with.

Very fair point, but what a great starting point.

The new special edition mini the Mini JCW championship 50 is £36k standard....lol but only 250 being built.

Only Golf R owners need apply - like that new £36k Mugen Civic, worlds gone mental!

For me, bloody estate agents tarnished Mini's.

Yeah the new Mugen R is so nice but.. Buy an 08 plate and add all the stuff too it and you'd still probably get 10k change!

Can't wait for mine now should be arriving at the doc's any day now. They say first week in feb for pick up. Just have to sell my Cupra now. Its back from the body shop looking all shiny and new.

They look good in white, the only thing SEAT have got wrong (as have Audi), is that all '09 cars onwards seem to have enormous round wing mirrors!!

Yeah the boc does look mean. I'd never really noticed the wing mirrors. Now I see what you mean. At least the are heated and folding unlike my current cupra.

One thing you can say for the new car's they do have a lot of toys e.g.

Cupra
EPS
ABS
CD Player

Bocanegra
EPS
ABS
XDS
Heating and Folding Mirrors
Cruise Control
Auto Locking Doors
Trip Comp
MP3 compatible and AUX in CD player

OPTIONAL ON MY CAR
Stearing Mounted Controls
Reversing Sensors
Coming home Lights
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror
Auto Wipers
Sat Nav mounting point

Should be a fair bit there to keep me out of trouble :)

I'm tempted to go try a clio 200 just to see if it brings back the old feeling of my 106 GTi.

I love the looks of the Corsa VXR but dont think i'd actually want one. Dont know why though. They dont look like they handle too hot in the 5th gear video I watched.

Give the RS 200 a go - a few on here who were umming & ahhing did so & ended up buying the RS. Some great deals to be had as well....just ask bickers70....;)

Revo is a tuning company who do stage 1-3 remaps and also offer switchable maps via an OSD port box.

Here is their website.

Not sure why your thread was deleted.. it just seemed to vanish, which is a shame as I was learning some good information. :)

I was sent a message saying it was deleted due to advertising.
Called PSI Tuning who deal with all the VW group cars, they said Custom Codes was still working on there software. The guy is gonna get bk to me let me know where their up to and how much. Hope it's not gonna be mega expensive due to the dsg remap too :(

Not sure if the DSG will need a remap or not. I think thats only if your going for higher torque outputs. TBH I'd be happy with anything around 280Nm and a tasty 220BHP with 98Ron fuel.

I agree with Mardon with regards to what power output to have. I'd be happy with about 210BHP and a little more torque. Don't want to go over the top.

As for the big round mirrors, I love them compared to my last car and they're heated.

Mardon and EdHorny:

You guys really don't understand how power output works.
The gist of it is that the engine puts out torque, and that's it. That's the only measure with any meaning. The HP is basically a conversion of that torque on the RPM scale of the engine.
So in essence, to increase the HP output without increasing the torque figure would require an engine that would keep increasing power as its RPM goes up, and then removing the rev limiter.
Unfortunately, turbo engines usually do not work like that, so there would be no benefit in upping the rev limiter, especially the ones with turbos as small as the TSI motor has.

However, about 50Nm of torque increase (it translates to about 210 BHP) should be safe for this gearbox, although I wouldn't get it on my car without an explicit warranty.
