Hi

My bonnet rattles as I drive, even slowly and its driving me nuts. When I push the bonnet up and down at the front edge there is some play in it, allowing it to rattle.

I have adjusted the little rubber 'feet' to their maximum but it doesnt get rid of the play and makes the bonnet stick up a little further than it should.

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the bonnet catch to hold it down more firmly?

Its an 05 LCR by the way.

Cheers

I'd get it checked by the dealers if you have any warranty left. You don't want the catch failing if it's loose now.

Thanks r6_allan

Taking it to the dealer is such a pain.
I would rather do it myself if its just a case of adjusting a screw or bolt or something.
Anyone any ideas?

would definitely suggest main dealer, i work at the BMW Mini factory and all the bonnets are set, if you move the catch too far and find you can't shut the bonnet or it sits far to high plus you might put the gaps out to the front wings then you'll be a bit stuck.

Good point Adam.
I guess I should just bite the bullet and put up with the inconvenience of taking it to a dealer.
cheers

havent really paid attention
but alot of cars, the holes the bonnet screws into the hinge are extended, so you can in effect slide the bonnet back and forth to seat it right

as i say, honestly dont know if this is case on leon, i dont "think" it is
