Bonnet paint and lacquer problem

The bonnet on my flash red ibiza has developed some strange spot effect.

These spots are all over the bonnet and the colour of them is duller than the rest of the bonnet. It looks like the lacquer has come off but I thought the lacquer was mixed in with the paint for flash red?

Tried getting a picture but they was no good, I'll try an get one later when I find a better camera.

Am I right in assuming this is the lacquer starting to come away? If so it's a respray job I guess.

Erm that dont look good as it looks like your going to lose the paint there. It could be that the bonnet has been re-sprayed or blended ?

there is two different types of paint high solid and water based, high solid is usually a gloss which doesnt need a lacquer but water based is a new type of paint and needs lacquer so it could be lacquer peel if so it will need respray

Look like what happens when you leave bird poo on for a long period of time, so your prolly right laquer might be peeling just avoid polishing it for
now till it's sorted

I also agree it looks like marks from bird muck, but it can't be that. Don't know why it really happened, guess I'll put it down to excessive polishing.

By chance does anyone know a good paint guy in the Scunthorpe area? And roughly what ball park on price it should be to sort?

I have a couple of these type of spots behind the aerial on my roof. They are not as noticeable because of the colour of my car, so i am just going to leave them
