is the bonnet on a 96 mk2 the same as a 99 ? any help would be great

Mine doesnt sit properly on the passenger side. There is a bigger gap between the bonnet and the top of the headlight than on the driver side.

when you say 96 mk2 do you mean the small bumper model? as in phase 1 model i believe its called? )
