Boost / Miss Fire Problem!

Hi,

Can anyone help me, I've got a 2001 Y Ibiza Cupra, last night i pulled off the lights briskly and with my foot flat down in second at about 2k revs power seemed to dip then come back.

At about 2.5k - 3k still with my foot down it seemed to judder really badly. Now if i put my foot down harshly it judders, like theres power then not then power and so on.

I presume this is a problem with the turbo boost pressure but to be honest i'm not sure.

Whilst Juddering it makes the Engine management light on the dash flash then stop again after with solid light.

Please help???

Are you sure its the engine management light and not the traction control ? That cuts the power quite considerably when you floor it and the wheels start to spin!!

Deffinately not the traction control, without sounding harsh i'm not that stupid.

Do you know anyone with vag com that can have a look see if its registered as a fault ??

I had those symptoms when I had a split Intercooler pipe. Check your boost pipes for splits etc

I'm not a mechanic but could it be something to do with your fueling???

Could be an injector or summit????

Yeah would advise the checking of all hoses and pipes!!

too be fair first thing i though of was tcs cutting in, not a nice feeling/sound when it does

a vagcom scan would be handy or a few more clues

A coilpack will also throw up a flashy light as your Lamba sensors will throw a wobbly.
That should give you some greif if you put your foot down. But you should here a constant missfire..

I dont hear a miss fire all the time, I only hear something at about 2.5k-3k when i'm hard on the throttle. Also i get a sudden jault at about 2k also if i'm hard on the gas.

If it is a coilpack whats the price of 1 of them from the dealer?

I think its more likely a burst pipe for the turbo, can this damage the engine if i carry on driving it (Only short journeys till i get it to the VAG com)?
