So before Donny show i had the intention to build a false floor to put my subs on and to neaten off the rear inside... but since almost lopping my whole finger off and having it in a splint for 5 weeks, things got slowed down a fair bit.

But now i can move it... all be it only a very small a mount... i have continued where i left off from building it :D

Ok so the idea is a false floor with a window for an amp in the back section, with the amp recessed under the floor, and a flat floor, from the back of the seats to the rear of the car with the sub box behind the seats.

Pics of it as it is and it will be updated as and when... should all be in tomorrow, or early next week :D

Firstly the structure was made... i tried to keep glueing to a minimum, and used as many of the threads already in the car to bolt the frame to.

Made a box for the amp to go in under neath the false floor.

Cut the panels out of MDF to the EXACT shape of the car

Carpeted everything with acoustic carpet, and cut the holes for power cable and speaker cables etc...
Carpet was stuck on with spray adhesive and heavy duty staples

Heres the back panel carpeted, with the hole for the perspex window...

The back half of the boot is finished

Ill update with the finished pictures as and when...
Just thought id share my small project :D :D

Mounting those harnesess like that is a seriously bad thing to do.

All it will take is a major hit from either corner and the belts go slack all of a sudden.

looks good but why?
you look like you want performance with buckets+harnesses+roll cage+16v..

those subs, all that wood and the amp cant be featherlight..

yes indeedy mate... almost the same as yours but the 10 inch version.
Ive got a fusion power plant F900-1D so its getting around 500WRMS.

WHY...?
Because i like my music and although ive gone for a stripped out kind of look, it needs some music to go with it... and this is it... Im guessing it all weighs less than an extra person in the car which i can live with :D

personally i'd take the ends off and roll em over the rear cage horizontal (have to make sure they clear the box though)

looking good though :D

add one above it then ? level with the seat holes - better still - just below

Thought it looked smaller

You put any sounded deadening in the rear?

Lookin to get a JL 500/1 to power my JL's and switch my Phoenix gold to powering my components

My mate had an amp installed under a false floor in the boot in the spare wheel well and had to fit 2 miniture fans into the false floor to cool the amps, is that going to be a problem with your amp?

theres no sound deadening in at the minute, ill see what vibrates and sort when i find it all out, so i get a better idea of what to cover... hopefully nothing behind the rear door cards as the cage prevents me from getting those off anymore :( lol.

I need some door cards before i start buying components, tho i need them desperately, the bass alone with tweeters is giving me a head ache when i listen to music. I bought snow patrols eyes open album today and it sounded shite through the system, because theres no mids.

Bloody good album tho ;)

If the amp continues to go into protection mode ill add some fans in, ive left room for them undernaeth the amp, theres holes in the amp box any way but i can always add fans at a later date easy enough.

Chris, do you have a link to the sub box on the JL website by any small chance? I need to get all the stats on it so i can set the amp up right but i dont know the frequencys or anything :( and i dont know exactly what to listen for when tuning it... Once i get those ill post on talk audio about setting the amp up properly :D

EDIT: Bit of an essay that was

Talk audio, LOL

Jump in your car drive to sheffield and see the boys at Source Sounds, they will be able to set it up spot on for you. The sea of IASCA trophies in there shop doesn't lie about how good they are. Friendly bunch as well :)
