Hi all!,
Decided to give something a try. I don't know if anyone on here knows that i have been thinking about a multi purpose boot build for a while.
Anyway, i have done my drawing, got my wood and this evening started to put things together.

The idea is as follows:
I have the false floor in the boot of my Altea like some people on here do!
Now i have been after fitting my sub into the car for a while now.. but i dont want to loose any boot floor space at all. (dog etc etc)

So i had an idea to utilise the under floor storage in the boot for a sub and tidy build. (this also includes the spare wheel bay as i don't have one!)
The ideas have grown a bit since then and i might need a mini power station, but who knows!

Anyway, here are the pics from my first nights work.
I doubt anyone will be able to tell what it is or how i am going to do stuff, so if you are interested, follow this post!

There are also some criteria, like i must be able to get it out without trashing it just in case i need the extra space.

Yeh, well noticed. But i do have this one covered!

You see in the pics where the square is (spare wheel sort of area) this is going to but cut out. Within that a second box is going to be built inside that area and built onto the boot tray using half inch ply / MDF. This should cure my potential vibration / sound issue with the sub. There is also going to be carpet / rubber between the metal and the wood.

Hopefully all that should cure it! But why didn't you use mdf for it all?
Good idea on the set up! Will you still have a spare wheel or will the sub drop into that bit? :)

Sub will drop into that bit as it is quite a deep sub and i dont have a spare wheel.
Have you felt the weight of half inch MDF / PLY? one major requirement in this is i must be able to remote it without too much fuss should i need the extra space!

Cheers

I remember the trouble i had when i made one in my old pug 106, getting it in and out physically wasnt a big deal, but, connecting all the wires up again was coz as we all know theres bog all room to work with and make it all neat and tidy at the end of it!
Good luck with it! You dont seem to be rushing it so thats usually a good sign!
