Boot won't open

Hi i have a seat ibiza 2004 1.2

I went to open the boot the other day clicked my key twice to unlock the boot and when lifted the 'S' badge nothing happend i tried locking the car and heard the boot lock, so i tried unlocking again, it made the unlock click like usual but still nothing.

I have tried squirting alittle wd 40 in the lock but still nothing. i have a large music system in the boot of the car so going in through the back seats would be a annoying so wondering if theres a way to release the catch automatically.

if anyone knows what the problem is and how to solve this, please let me know thanks

I know you sprayed into the lock with WD40, but did you try manually unlocking with the key?

yea i tried unlocking it with the key and still nothing it clicked when i turned the key but never opened

Keep trying it then take when it does work get the plastic panel off and lift up the release pin. That'll be your new boot opening method haha.

Then get some grease on all of the moving parts for the lock and it should be fine.
