Hi,

Just after some opinions. I have a candy white leon FR 2.0TDI CR with black alloys and wing mirrors... I am going to paint my calipers in the next few weeks but cant decide whether to stick with the white and black theme througout the car and paint them black or whether to do them red for a bit of contrast in colour so they stand out, but they will be the only red thing on the outside of the car then? Anyway, just thought some opinions would help!

Cheers

Would look at black calipers with a red sticker' cupra' or what have you. Blue goes with white well plus the golf r32 has blue calipers so ties into the vag scene.

Might as well go the whole Hog and put Ferrari stickers on lol Paint them Red and wash them once a week with Cillit Bang Power Cleaner Degreaser (Green sprayer), it dissolves brake dust and keeps your wheels and calipers mint!! but dont put stickers on!!

unless you have aftermarket brakes like a nice set of brembo's/stoptech's etc then red is fine (not that you'd paint aftermarket calliper's etc as they'd come powdercoated etc),

personally if your painting oem calliper then it has to be black for me,

nice and subtle's the way forward

Had the same dilemma a couple of weekends ago, was going to go gold as a bit of a subtle contrast to Crono Yellow, but went for red 'cos I already had the paint from doing my ST calipers.

What paint have you used? I was looking at using some smooth red hammerite? Did you do much prep other than a wire brush? How easy difficult is it to get them looking like a kid hasnt done them?

Cheers

You front brake discs look a lot smaller than mine? I have White FR CR with black 18's too. Can't go out and look though cause misses away in it but need to check this. I'm positive mine are bigger. Mine just got replaced before I bought it too.

not too keen on hammerite myself as I've used it in the past and it has started to flake after a while. I use the special caliper paint you can get at halfrauds. it is very good to be honest
