The angle you will have to go in at will give you very little choice about what specific part you are pointing it at. But be careful you actually point them and keep them pointed at the brakes, because all your ducting will be blocking all the air that usually gets to teh brakes through the front side grills. ALso, why not just make some deflector plates to direct that air to your brakes rather than removing your lights?

thanks for the info mate. the deflector plates seem a good idea. ill have to have look underneath and see what room i have under there. do you no if it will make a noticeable difference having the deflector plates fitted? i plan to use it as much as i can on track days etc so i wanna get the brakes sorted :)

I just kind of made it up. Some bits of ally bent and shaped to deflect moving air from under your car onto the brakes

Really??? Unless your going to have a proper air feed with a ducting panel pointing straight at the disc I don't see the point it wont really be worth it, besides do your brakes really get that hot, with a good brake setup, uprated braided hoses and fluid what's the problem??

Well every bit of cooling helps.
I think if I had some cooling on mine they wouldn't of failed so quickly, Nothing scarier than not having brakes to use....

This is very frustrating, can't seem to find a decent post on any brake cooling duct modifications carried out to our MK1's.
I will begin working on doing a brake cooling duct for my car and if all goes well I'll probably put together a decent guide.

Got them already, 330 x 28mm, 2 piece discs on the front. Also using Motul RBF600 brake fluid, but that still doesn't stop the brake fluid from boiling during track days in summer.

I saw a Race spec Lambo at BDM which had brake cooling ducts, I might do something similar. The duct was a simple aluminum tube (around 1.5" long) welded to a plate that was then fastened to something on the back of the hub and a flexi duct hose connected to it.

ive had a little look on google images and found that most the hoses point to the disks and almost all race cars use some sort of brake ducting so like CJRamze said every bit of cooling helps especially if your doing track days ect.

Not sure how you got on with your brake ducts, but SEAT did make OEM brake ducts for the 4x4 (and I think V6) Euro mk1 Cupras. They come in two parts per side, the scoop and then the duct. I asked Dave @ SERE about these linky.

Parts 28-31 on the pic below - looks like the scoop part was designed to fit in the lower slots on the facelift Cupra bumper.

The first part of that video where I'm having a bit of a jaunt up the hills was great fun, upon stopping however my brakes were smoking.

I'm using Badger Bills 330mm setup with braided lines, motul hi temp fluid and Ferrodo 2500 pads.
Great setup, I think I might need to move to the 3000 pads, Not sure yet though.

Smoking pads however scared me a bit, I didn't think I was pushing it that hard, but with the LCR its hard to tell because the revs seem to go on forever and before you know it your going quite fast.

I'm still looking at brake ducting, Might have to invest in some new pads too.
I'm a bit nervous when it comes to my brakes now.

If you look at the mk1 Audi S3 it has slits in the front part of the wheel arch lining. Do the same thing.
I have simple air vents fitted in the lining - right behing the fogs. Sort of what MurderedLCR has but bigger.
