Ok so my lad has a 12 plate 5dr SEAT Ibiza 1.2 FR that needs new pads and discs all round ..

On Euro Car parts they are listing 3 different sizes !!

256mm
288mm (EBC Quote this size)
312mm

Could anyone point me in the correct direction please ?? I did ring the local SEAT dealer but their response was "we sell a kit that has front/rear pads and discs in it " and couldnt elaborate on specific sizes..

Also what dics/pads do people recommend ??? He was after Brembo for the name mostly or some slotted dics but I heard that the Brembo arent as good as they used to be.

Thanks in Advance

Okay, take a look at the brake calliper that is fitted to the front brakes:- if it has FS111 cast into the calliper's outer face as you look in through the spokes then it will have 256mm discs, now if it has a vertical anti rattle spring(wire) on the outer face of the calliper then it will have 288mm discs.

From what I've seen, SEAT have been very sloppy about when/where in the engine output power range they start using the 288mm discs and I would not be surprised if that car has the smaller front brake setup.

Edit:- I've never ever used Brembo, but that might change, I've not heard any bad things said about them.

Another Edit:- keep an eye on ECP discounts, they do good deals at times, plus always order online for either delivery or collection and as long as you keep these parts in their boxes, they can be returned and your money refunded for 365 days! I have a set of brake parts for a late 2009 Ibiza 1.4 16V sitting on my garage bench waiting to see if my daughter is going to trade this car in or not! (things fathers are expected to do?)
