The front discs on my mk1 LCR seem quite heavily scored in concentric circles round their radius, see pics:

Is this normal? I know about the discolouring, the pics were taken immediately after a wash and before I'd driven it again so not worried about that, just the scoring.

I don't think it's dangerous, but those discs are pretty heavily worn judging by the lip, so you might want to look into getting new ones fairly soon. Might just be worth checking the pads to see if something has got itself embedded in there.

Mine looked like this before I replaced them - not sure what discs they were, came with the car, presumably standard chepo ones. I then had a full set of pads replaced for 130 quid so again will have been the crappiest ones on the market, and the discs ended up like that. Now running EBC ultimax discs, grooved which supposedly reduces the effects of scoring somewhat. Havent got any signs of it so far, but in fairness they have only been on for about 1k miles now! Would also suggest replacing at some point due to both scoring + the lip on the discs. Main reason I went through with it was because they were also warped

my brembo discs looked like that after running ebc greenstuff cack pads for a year, wrecked my discs so about 8k mileage if that and the whole lot had to be replaced.

The pads were replaced by the dealer I bought the car from to pass its' predelivery MOT. Or at least they said they were, I was told I was getting two new tyres as well and only got one. I'll look at getting some new/better discs soon.

One other thing worrying me slightly is in the second photo - look at the white, presumably plastic bit above and behind the disc (I don't know what that's called?). It seems to be cracked, whereas the one on the other wheel is fine. What is that thing and should I get it replaced?
