So i'm at a point im choosing the brake pads for my LCR. It is going to be a fast road/track car, so will be running drilled and grooved discs, wanting a decent pad too that can take some heat BUT i cannot justify spending a fortune on just some front pads alone when they will wear out pretty quick with the discs im using eetc and I'll have to spend that money again.
Whats the best sort of budget/performance pads? Ive always run EBC Ultimax on all my other cars but none have been as track focused as i want this one to be.
Cheers

I use Ferrodo DS 2500’s
With drilled and grooved black diamond discs. Motel 660 RBF, and braided lines.

Great braking.. positive feel. No judder etc quiet too.
Brake dust not too Much.
Did Snetterton 300 a month back and they didn’t let me down.

Looks an awesome set up, its just the £130 for the front pads I dont think I could handle. Its a lot of money when in 6 months or so theyll need replacing, it will be my daily on most days too so will cover some miles, just cant see them lasting and for that price i need them too haha

Don't cheap out on the disks or you may regret it especially on the track. Heat is going to be crazy and cheap drilled disks may crack and end in a horrible mess. Imo going to the track...use solid non drilled and buy the above pads if money is there. If not go to euro and buy two sets of cheap ISH pads and run them. Second set as back up.

I understand dont skimp on discs etc. But discs can last foreverrrrr if they're looked after, pads wear through and its a never ending expense. I just wasn't sure if there was some awesome pad for cheap that i wasnt aware of. The Ferrodos look nice but £110 for a front set....but if thats what it costs for decent pads then ill be forking out but day to day, very gentle on that brake pedal:blink:

I would second the DS2500’s. I was running them on Ultamax road use - awesome braking when warmed up so I they will be the doggies danglers on the track. They should last more than 6 months unless you are doing a few track days (in which case get a second set of alternative pads for use on the road)

I've had mine on nearly a year and done track day recently with another at the end of the month.
I have loads of pad left front and rear. And have done 6000 miles.
