Hi all, I have a Ibiza cupra tdi,

I bought some Brasso metal poilsh for £2.10 in Asda to shine my exhaust.

Turns out its absolutely amazing on alloy wheels as well, fast and really to use and leaves fantastic results.

I wont be paying for poor boys wheel sealant ever again !

Thought I would share my experience of a much better alternative to pb wheel sealant.

Hope this helps someone :D

How are you comparing an abrasive metal polish to a wheel sealant?

I wouldn't recommend using it on paintwork at all

I have a tub of Poorboys wheels sealant, I think it's great stuff.

I haven't used it much in fairness but when I have it makes cleaning the wheels next time round an absolute breeze.

I agree that PB wheel sealant isn't the best out there, but you're comparing it to a completely different product.

Brasso isn't a sealant, it's a polish and isn't going to protect the wheels at all. It doesn't serve that purpose. It'll cut through your clearcoat and flatten the shine over time where you'll be left with no choice but a refurb.

Swap your Brasso for some paint polish such as Autoglym SRP or perhaps AutoFinesse Triple then put your sealant on top of it. Your shine will come from the polishing more than the sealant..

Your wheels are a painted surface and should be treated the same as the bodywork.
