Honest opinions on realistic on value of my 2004 Platinum Grey Leon Cupra TDI please? I was hoping for £3k given the alloys, leather seats and other bits, and the fact it needs nothing doing to it. I know that is the very top bracket of what I could expect, although have seen similar spec/mileage ones advertised for up to £3200.
Thoughts? Otherwise it starts coming down to near what the missus' Fiesta is selling for, and that can't be right when you compare the two cars???
(ps. will be going in the classifieds here once my 15 posts gets cleared). Truth is I had only posted 4 times before today, because had that few problems!

Very reluctant sale of 2004 Seat Leon Cupra TDI. Platinum Grey with 98,500 miles on the clock, with very rare full black leather interior.
I purchased this car with 58,000 miles on it, and it has been an absolute pleasure to drive and own. At the time I needed an economical diesel for a 60 mile daily motorway commute. I wanted something that still had a bit of poke, and that was easy on the eye. This fitted my criteria and I wasn't disappointed. I can vouch for the manufacturer claim of 52mpg, I did the maths more than once, it pays to when you are doing 15k miles a year! Very smooth, and the PD 150bhp engine made the commute easy. It has been cherished during my ownership, any MOT advisories taken care of (front wishbones for example), quality genuine or equivalent parts used each time, regularly serviced, all fluids regularly changed. I made some subtle mods, nearly all cosmetic which I think really compliment the car and the colour. It always gets compliments when I take it to a garage. During my ownership of around 40k miles, the only relatively major issue I can recall was a new alternator needed. I knew it had the common VAG group leaking door seals when I bought it, I promptly sorted these and it has been bone dry ever since. Apart from that I changed the glow plug harness as it was giving fault codes and that really has been it. I have the paperwork for all MOT's and work since I have owned it, it already came with its FSH etc. HPI clear, I have the printout from when I purchased it.
Reason for sale is pretty simple. I now live and work in Cambridge and am lucky enough to be able to walk to work. I have the Leon and my fiancée has a Fiesta, we only need one car so we are keeping the Fiesta. Mainly because I wouldn't insure her on the Leon, and I've seen some truly terrible parking on this road! The money from the sale will be better used on our wedding, a fact I have to remind myself of every time I step inside the Fiesta
Mechanically, I can confidently say that nothing needs doing currently, and I doubt it will for some time. Cambelt and water pump were done at 67k so they won't need doing for at least another 30k miles. Last serviced by myself in May this year, very little mileage since, all genuine parts etc. MOT until May 2017, no advisories! Gearbox oil was changed under my ownership, and the 6 speed gear change is lovely, especially with the Seat Sport gear knob and it's slightly shorter throw. I am seriously sad about selling the alloys, 18" Borbet XRT Polished 8J ET35, with Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, but I sold the originals and it will be a while before I can buy a car I like again! 18" are the same as the Cupra R model, but I feel the colour of these really looks good with this colour car. Brake pads, front discs all relatively new, fluid changed in April. Air con was regassed not so long ago, still ice cold
The only thing I never got round to getting done is a few scratches in the paintwork (same as when purchased), but could easily be sorted if it bothered you. I only noticed them when washing the car, and considering the car is 12 years old, they really aren't that bad.
The other mods on the car listed below. Leon enthusiasts will no doubt be familiar with most of these:-
- Skoda Fabia rear wiper (so much better than the original!)
- Genuine Seat Cupra R front lip spoiler
- Smoked Autoart side repeaters & sliver indicator bulbs all round

- Genuine Cupra R metal pedal set
- Removed 6 CD changer, installed Aux lead for MP3 use
- Genuine Seat glove box reclaim
- Pressed Metal number plates
- Borbet XRT Graphite Polished 18" 8J ET35 alloys (2 years old, excellent condition + Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s (lots of life yet). All in all about £900 of wheels
