i read the brembo refurb guide, though have a question,

my front calipers are very dull, the laquer is finished and i was going to follow the guide and re-laquer them,

would it be advisable to t-cut the calipers before applying the new laquer???

after t-cutting i was going to re clean them with brake cleaner to remove any excess t-cut.

or no matter how dull they are, when i apply the new laquer will they return to like new????

i dont want to laquer them and then realise that i should have given them a run over with T-cut

any advice would be appreciated.

You don't need to t cut them just make sure there clean and free from dirt and grease then laqure them and they will come up like new

i was amazed too! They look awesome now looked real crappy when i bought the car and i must admit i was a bit worried after i had used a scalple and some fine sand paper and i thought i had poss balsed it up but after a couple of coats of laquer they looked B.E.A.Utiful! :D

where did people get their laquer from and how much? tempted to have a go of this at the weekend.

I used Hycote stuff as mentioned in the original refurb thread (tells you everything you need to buy). It was about 2 or 3 quid as I remember, plus you can use it for other stuff like lacquering your R badges to stop them falling apart. And I've still got enough left to do the calipers again if they need doing. Not bad value!

I re-laquered mine last year and i went via the guide and they looked really good till i reversed it out the garage to find the areas where the old laquer had flaked off to be like new and the old laquer was Yellow!!! so i had multi coloured brembos!!

i have just had them bead blasted and repainted and i rebuilt them. I think thats the only way to get them looking good

But the guide on here is a really good quick fix
