i was thinking of refurbing my brembo's but after a close inspection i have found that alot of the original red paint is crumbling off, so was leaning towards the idea of having them powder coated.

i'm going to use a local garage who specialise in evo's, the chap there says you have to be careful as you can ruin the seals, he has agreed to get the front calipers powder coated for £50, this will only get me the front half off the caliper coated, his understanding was why pay for the back when you cant see it, he also provides a gaurantee that if anything happens to the seals, they will be replaced free of charge.

does this sound like a reasonable price. i was going to get the backs done but i think i might just give them a clean and lacuer them considering i've already bought the brake cleaner and laquer?

also the cheap brembo stickers on ebay, is it better to go for the expensive ones or are they all of a similar quality, has anuone had bad experience with cheap stickers warping???

thanks, though i've read that post, i will be refurbing the rears, though the fronts are too bad, so rather than painting them was thinking of having them powder coated.

Pretty sure your better of stripping the whole calliper down. Im not sure what temperature it is when they bake them but it will damage rubber seals etc.

yea i have been told, asked the mechanic will he warrant the seals after, he is more than happy as he just had his evo5 calipers done and their fine. any problems and he will be replacing them free of charge.

The temperature these rubbers see during their everyday life is massive so would doubt the baking would give them any trouble TBH.

Your probably right Willie I asked a local wheel powder coating outfit about mine last year, he wanted the whole lot stripping which I didn't feel competent doing. Mind you its something he doesn't normally do so probably didn't wanna take any chances.

I'm looking into this too, my calipers are getting passed a relaquer so it's time for a freshen up. I have no idea how to go about finding a caliper painter though, a local one that is . Powders coaters are listed locally but none seem to be automotive.
