BTCC LED running lights

Hi all,

Saw some of these in the front vents on a BTCC in Birmingham today. Anybody know where to get them from? Are they a standard kit available or individual LED's?

There was a thread about this before and it can be done. Was a video too of how it is done on youtube. Will see if i can dig it up.... using the search thread....... can't seem to find it now. There was even a link on which seperate leds to buy on e-bay.

Yes, I was looking at this before too. Its not a kit. You have to custom make them yourself.

Thats the thing I want to do and no issues with doing a custome job myself. I'll have a look on youtube and see what it comes up with but if you do find the link to how it's done then that would be great.

Not sure of those ones from ebay as they are in banks of 3 which may not work. I know the SMD's are very small but it I will have to keep looking. I may jsut get a set of normal white headlight SMD's and connect them up to the headunit power? I shouldn't have any Canbus issues with that from memory?

Managed to finally get these sorted and I think they look really good. I've gone for the 6 small SMD's in each vent and they do look like they were part of the original car....hopefully they will get through the MOT. Cost under £15 all in!

I know it's not everybody's thing but each to their own!....will try and get some pics up.

fitted these to my old leon a while ago
all you need is some leds 5 or 6mm [ebay] and you fix and hot glue behind the vents wire up

I have a couple of strips of DRL's ready, its mainly wiring them in which is where I'm stuck.
