Hi, I drive a 2008 2.0 fr tdi and I’ve been having some trouble with my headlights, I’m pretty sure the headlights in the car are for the cupra as any time I type my last number up it’s the only one to show, problem is I can’t seem to find one anywhere for the passenger side (1P2941008B). I’m wondering if anyone would know if there is any other Leon headlights that’s would fit into the headlight plug connector, the part number is 1J0973737, I’m not fussed where its halogen or xenon I just need a light on as I’m trying to get an mot for sale thanks in advanced I hope I’ve explained well enough

Hi mate probable a silly question but are you sure they are OEM Xenons (like in my Avatar)? They were an option on the FR and possibly all trims.

The code No. you quote 1P2941008B is definitely OEM but wondered as you mention halogen. I am sure that the OEM Xenon housing will only accept a Xenon Bulb not halogen.

You dont say what the trouble is, but i guess you have a couple of options:
Buy a new Xenon Bulb
Buy a factory housing if thats the culprit, i had a google using that number and there are a few for sale

You wont be able to swop the entire housings for the standard Halogen ones as the Xenons had auto levelling and the Halogens would require the manual adjustment that you wont have. hope you get it sorted.

I didn’t know they were an extra I had thought they were cupra ones as I first typed my code up that’s what showed, but the issue is the connector to the actual headlight had fried the headlight basically so I need a whole new headlight, the code I have on mine is impossible to find I found one there with the exact same code nearly and I’m not sure it’ll fit, original (1P2941008B) and the one I found is 1P2941007B would this still work the same do you know?

I'm afraid I can't help, I think best thing today would be to call a SEAT dealer, they will know for sure.

Xenon headlights were produced by Valeo for the Seat Leon 1P. Item number Valeo 044094, right-hand traffic, bi-xenon.
All information is provided without warranty.

As far as I'm aware, Valeo never sold the UK xenons (left hand traffic) through their aftermarket channel and they were only available from Seat directly.

Happy to be corrected, but I seem to recall finding this out when I was looking a few years back.

I Think it is After Sales

That's for right hand traffic, so only suitable for mainland Europe, and other countries that drive on the right. We drive on the other side of the road here in the UK so the headlight beam shape and aim is different.

You were right. I briefly checked with my sources. Valeo never approved it for after-sales, the same as with the Leon 5F Valeo facelift headlights. An exclusive product. All my links were displayed incorrectly.
