Ho guys, I'm Ross. I'm new to the club, but I am now on my second Leon. My first was a mk2 fr tdi in yellow and I'm now running a btcc fitted ref sport tdi. Was just wondering if anyone knows how to tell if ur bodykit is from seat or an aftermarket jobbie?

.ur comments are would be helpful.

I thought they were all after market, although supplied by SEAT they are fitted by the STEALERS, and thats how they make extra cash, just like the parking sensors etc.

I personally wouldnt know unless its a pants job, sorry that doesnt help.

Your definition of aftermarket is different to everyone else's Cupra Jim!

The ref sport had the btcc kit fitted from new before it was used on the K1 or anything else, but not all ref sport did of course.

Best way to check is the back of the grills etc for the VW/Audi group part stamp but aftermarket bumpers should be easy to tell apart as the quality will be worse, on the whole.

Thanks for ur replies. I know no btcc's come out the factory and that some were put on by the stealers. This kit looks good ie the bumpers and exhaust. I've not looked at the frills for stamps, but the spoiler says made in Austria on it. The only thing I was concerned about was the paint isn't the best. Maybe I'm being a perfectionst. The fit is really good.

Does ur v5 reg doc not show if its a btcc?

Sounds like a proper kit to me.. Nice fit.. shody paint. :D

I have a hair in my back bumper. I have never seen any replica kits being made but then I haven't really been looking either.. I can have a nosey at mine for any identifying stamps but I imaging the only places you will find those are inside the bumpers.

In fact I just looked under the sink at my spare jacking point cover.. It has a seat stamp and part number.. made in Austria. allbeit not an original part to my car but purchased from Sere a Seat dealer.. So yes I would say you are original.

If anyone is after a kit then PM me? Not in great shape but can fill you in if you contact. Cheers
