They do get backup to a certain extent, but they are very much their own team. Spain has enough on it's plate, its running it's own WTCC campaign while also supplying customer teams.
The lack of winter testing has again hurt the UK team, but they didn't get the cars from Spain until very late in the day, and SEAT Sport's own testing program and early start to the WTCC all added up to very little testing for the UK team.
Sadly that's motor racing for you, people also forget the VX team are a very seasoned outfit who have been at the sharp end of touring cars for many many years.
As manufacturers go SEAT is very much David to Vauxhall's Goliath the fact they demonstrate time and again they can beat the Griffin they do suffer terrible luck sometimes of their own making.
SEAT might drop the ball, but I wouldn't support anyone else
