Did I write that?? NO! I wrote "I heard that they can crack.", This goes for ANY car, sunroof, manufacturer....

It CAN happen and that's why I not getting one with a sunroof. I also use a roof bike rack and I don't want bits and pieces falling from my bike on to the sunroof.

It happened to a friend of mine in a KIA.

It's anyones choice and I choose no sunroof.

Ah a logical reason why you wouldn't consider a sunroof is because you use a bike roof rack!
Fair point and yes its your choice, but to say your not getting one because it happened to your buddies Kia is ridiculous.

If you Google it you will see that it's quite common (not only KIA). I drive a lot through Europe and I don't want it happening in a foreign country, what a nightmare. They look nice but I will not take that chance. There was no explanation to why it happened to my friends KIA, just totally exploded (in the rain).

Yes I have googled it and I have seen there have been a number of cases (low percentage) but it still wouldn't stop me from buying one. The glass is obviously thinner than windscreen glass so there is a possibility a stone could cause a tiny crack causing the sunroof to break. Temperatures may be a factor too , heat/cold etc... Just like in any windscreen except you don't see the one on the roof!

I would love a sunroof but with my luck it would probably crack just as I leave the dealer
