Hello.

I'm wanting to upgrade my headlight bulbs but i'm wondering which bulbs to get?
There are a couple of options

1. H7 Philips Blue Vision bulbs £25.50, pair
2. H7 Auto Bulbs Direct 12V 55W Xenon Ice Blue Bulbs £12.50, pair
3. H7 OSRAM Cool Blue £19.99, pair

Is it worth spending my money on these bulbs or am I better saving it up for an Xenon HID kit?

What do people think? Do any of you have these bulbs?

Thanks,
Will

i had bluevisions in my dips but changed to hids. the hids are way better but if you do get hids dont get anything over 6000k. they look way too blue plus you may get in bother with the cops. if you do go for hids grt thr ones designed for reflector headlamps (h7R i think they are called) and get your lights focused after fitting them.. nothing worse than blinding everyone else on the road

if you want to upgrade i.e. get more light out so you can see better, don't use coloured bulbs - they put out less light. Go for Osram Nightbreakers or Philips X-treme.

If by upgrade you mean make them look blue, then your only option is coloured bulbs. But expect less light and drive accordingly.

Retrofit HID kits are all dodgy - You'll find they are all marketed as for off-road or show use and are not sold as road legal. Tighter MOT rules are supposed to be on their way which will make them an MOT fail.

I've got Philps Vision Plus, the predecessor to X-treme, and they make a noticable improvement.

I can't trace the exact date I got the Vision Plus bulbs - it's at least five years ago. No replacement needed since they were first installed.

+1

Running H7R 6000k HID's myself and love them!

Honestly don't bother with upgrade bulbs, just go for HID's, you won't regret it!
Go for 6000k, good colour and very bright. Passed several MOT's too.

Its all money isn't m8, the lights don't bother me that much i can drive fine with them, my missus would rather better lights, we just swaped our ST170 with xenons for this LCR. whats the cost of the above mentioned H7r's m8 are they easy to fit or what?
