Headlight/Headlight Bulb Replacement Options

Hi,

Completely new here, first post, also very limited knowledge of cars.

I have a hard time seeing at night with my current headlight/headlight bulb setup, so I'm thinking of doing something about it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could improve vision at night? I not only struggle with unlit road, but also struggle a little with glare. Is there any headlight bulbs I should look at as a possible replacement? Or are there any headlight unit replacements out there that might help ?

Many thanks!

It's a 2011 Seat Ibiza btw.

I guess you would either have H4 or H7 bulbs, okay, but the recommendations for new bulbs would be the same. Assuming you had the original bulbs, which are now 12 years old, it's time to change them even if they are not fused. Suggest you go for Osram Nightbreaker or Philips X-Treme vision (plus 130s) type. Offerings from Ring and Bosch are usually good as well. Note that these 'performance' bulbs may only last 18-24 months tops. Also do get a sponge, and use some screen wash to wash and wipe clean (with microfibre after) the headlight lenses. I usually do this at every fill up. If your headlight lenses are yellow or hazed over, then guess you would need to sort that too. Assuming you will replace them (bulbs) yourselves, please ensure you take note of the beam pattern and that you acutally put the bulbs in the correct way. Do NOT touch the glass with your hands, try with a cloth or gloves. Else pehaps go to Halfords or similar and let them do it for you for a bit of £.
