This is my first post here so hi fellow Seat enthusiasts. I have been on Briskoda for years with my trusty 04 plate Mk1 Fabia VRS. Finally decided to to sell the old girl and bought this standard Track grey 11 plate Ibiza Cupra 6j with 33k on the clock. A gamble I know but being persuaded to go back to petrol from diesel I was running out of time and there really was not a lot else around that interested me. I was really loving driving the car but it had a little wobble at idle that bothered me. Had my local Vag specialist change the plugs. Plugs that came out looked good on all cylinders. Then yes you guessed it on the first cold morning after the plug change misfire!. I did not want to post here until the car had been looked at. Misfire on cylinder 2 diagnosed, garage could not tell me anymore until a week and a half later, fully booked apparently. Que lots of stress and worry about CAVE engine Piston problems ect. I did not drive it for that time. That week could not have gone slower but after a quick visual from myself I could see what looked like a bodged wire repair to the cylinder 2 coil pack harness. This was confirmed by the garage and repaired today using original VW wire kits. ROAD TESTED OK
. I have just driven it home and it seems a lot happier not misfiring on idle anymore and very keen to rev. So relived. It still has the cold morning test to pass but I think it will be fine now. Radio reception is also much better as the bodged wire job was interfering with the signal. It has the battery in the boot and the DSG service update sticker other than that I know little of it's history apart from it's been serviced on time and has not been stolen written off ect. Hope we can enjoy the beast now. Will get some better pics up when I can and it's earnt my trust again. Not got any plans to tune it just maintain. Is still under warranty from dealer so I may try and claim the repair cost back. Cheers all.
