Cadwell park Track Day: result!

Some photos I took from the day. None of my car in action though, still waiting on my mate and the track photographer to get thier asses in gear

Yours looked really good going round the track. Something that quiet looks like it really shouldn't be going round corners that fast lol. But the pink helmet really clashed with the car haha.
Looking forward to going out there with you next time tho mate. Will hopefully have a day to play with when i do.

Haha, I was drawn to the random colours, my blue smurf doesnt work with the colour scheme either

Stopped while about 4:30, track was open while 5 but figured everyone would be rushing to get last laps in and I'd of been pissed to bin it on a last lap.

How was your day at oulton park dave? It was great, book up For the 28th thats when I'm hoping to go. I expect to be left behind by you however!

I ended up in my Leon, Jay -- Had a quote of £350 for the day to insure the BM -- but as it happened, I think I had an awful lot more fun in the Leon than I would in it through having no fear!!

You saying you're booked on Oulton on the 28th? Or rebooked for Cadwell -- recall seeing a date flying round for next month? I've got to replace an arch liner (went out with slightly colder tyres later on and got a bit too spirited -- had to do the red-flag walk of shame!! haha!!!), brakes and probably brake fluid

oooh red flag of shame tut tut. There was plenty that kept cutting my laps short- kinda sucked. The one on the 28th is a thusday so should be quieter too, was pretty busy

What are thevdreaded stone chips like on track, last thing you want is a chipped car after driving behind someone?

Also did you do the stuff such as leaving the engine on all day for cooling and use chocs instead of hand brakes?

Ben,never felt/got any stone chips, even if relatively close to car/s infront. whthe en i came in off track, i left car on for some time with bonnet open, being a dsg, I could just put it in park and not use handbrake. Red flags directyou straight back to pits so slowdown laps were difficult to have, I instead did a few laps around the pits/carpark before pulling up

Yeah - I was the only one in the afternoon hahaha, gutted. Only about 4 offs during the day - I've got to say mine was the most exciting though - most people had just forgotten to turn. I at least spun and got beeched

Going to try get my car ready again, and hopefully join in the fun

No I had no insurance, didnt even look into it to be honest. I just took it nice and slow and built up my speed along the day only did 5-6 laps at a time. Usually cut short by red flags but next time i'll stay out a little longer I think. Towards the end of the day I was getting quicker.

MY passenger said this on another forum I'm on:

This beast really surprised me with how quick it is, the dsg kind of masks the power as you have no jerks inbetween gears, but when you're keeping up with fully prepped track cars in a straight line it soon reminds you. There's power everywhere, torque low down and it pulls hard all the way to the redline, really is quick

Grip was good all day, no tyre fade, cold air probably helped but jay was quite hard on them especially towards the end, same with the brakes, they got better as the day went on

For £100 + consumables this really is a wicked track
