hey, i've been told the cupra's need the cambelt changing at 60k, could anyone confirm this for me please?

my cars done 50k but fancy getting it done now for peace of mind. i've briefly read somewhere on here that a water pump needs replacing at the time of changing the cam belt? is this true?

finally... can anyone recomend anywhere in east yorkshire area thats decent where i can get all this work done? and roughly how much its going to set me back?

sorry for boring you! cheers ;)

Dont need changing at 60k, its a visual check then and change at 120k.

But as most people dont want to kill their engines its best to do it earlier than later.

Lookin at £250+ for the whole lot to be done.

Get it done at the same time you get Revo'd, you might get some discount as you'll be spending so much money. Make sure you replace the water pump with a brass impellor version.

yea just had my mine changed. £300 all in with metal impellor one. The mechanic showed me my old cambelt and there was cracks appearing on the flat side of the belt. I really think seat are a bit wrong when they said 120k miles :S

do a search for info on metal water pumps . . . loads of info. Trentons could do it. Depends how rich you are. I take my cars to Right Car in Beverley - been fine with them and good prices. They did the cambelt etc on the lil 106 last year. Might get them to do the Ibiza later this year. It's done about 40000 but was changed 5 years ago under warranty. Let me know how you get on with finding somewhere reliable tho ;-)
