Cant open bonnet

Hi, i am having a problem with my Seat leon cupra R (04). I cant get the bonnet open. When i pull the bonnet it pops but the plastic tab on the grill wont pop out for me to release the
Bonet. Anybody have any ideas how i could get the bonnet open?

Carefully, pull the S badge and surround grill out... it should pop out and then use a screwdriver on the mechanism to slide it open, have somebody pull up gently on the bonnet while trying to wedge your screwdriver in.

Be careful of the little microswitch on the locking mechanism as i broke mine and its £30-£40 for a new one.

We have the grill off but where is the mechanism?

Once it's open can you take the lock mechanism off and give it a clean and re-grease and put it back on? Mine stuck before Christmas and I managed to get it open and blast it with wd40 as a temporary measure.

ah yes sorry, you should see two screws which is attached to a metal plate covering the mechanism, unscrew this and remove it and the mechanism will be behind it.

Good good, i had a disaster with mine, had a boost hose pop off and the lever under the steering wheel had become detatched completely from the lock mechanism. My bonnet wouldnt open at all, not even the first stage.. took a long time fiddling but finally got it open, glad yours is sorted
