When I park up or the cars been sat and I get in and out of it, it creaks, the creak sounds like when you let the car down after been on stands. I’ve only noticed it when the handbrake is on and not tried it with it off, what could it be? The cars a 14 plate on 35k miles, 1.4 fr.

I've had this in the past when parked on an incline and I hadn't engaged the handbrake enough.

The 'creaking' noise I assume was the discs sliding through the brake pads.

How much you weigh?

Either the brakes as above or the suspension, sometimes you may notice it creak going over speed bumps slower as well

Try applying the footbrake hard then the handbrake hard, or as an experiment leave in gear with the handbrake off (only temporarily) to see if the noise is gone.

My first port of call would have been handbrake too. You might think it's applied enough but if there's slack in the cable it may not be engaging fully at the rear end and my need adjustment.

If hand brake related it would be heard in the back more than front. If it sounds like it’s coming from the front suspension area, it could be as simple as the anti roll bar needs greasing again.
