My predicament is that I've seen a pair of cupra bumpers that I would like to purchase for my car. I have already established they are pre-facelift and will fit my car. However the seller cannot guarantee that the paint will be the same, however they think that there was only ever one type of yellow rolled out on seat leons, "Chronos Yellow" ?. If so it would match my cars paintwork.
Any :help: would be greatly appreciated.:)

you be best just getting them resprayed, it shoudlnt be too much as most of the price of a respray is down to dismantaling the car etc. since these are aready off you avoid this.

Even if they're the same color they will not have faded in the same way that your and all paint work does. My aero rear bumper is offically the same color but on the car you can notice the difference just because I had it off for a year and it didnt fade as much as the rest

Yes I thought there was only one type of yellow cars produced by seat. Also i've took the guys word on saying its a pre facelift bumper. However im not too sure, how this can be exactly determined?

my car is chrono yellow , and i have had to have 2 sets of jacking point covers and they come out slightly lighter than the rest of my paintwork and this is on plastic the same as the bumpers.

you never know you could buy them and they will be a perfect match !

I thought if you damage a bumper or anything yellow the whole car had to be sprayed to get it all same colour as my friend was in a accident and smashed his rear bumper. He paid extra so it would all look the same. Most difficult colour to work with

I would rather not waste money in getting a full respray. The variation between colours would be very slight and im guessing it would only be noticeable if looking at the bumper up close, My current bumpers were resprayed by Arnold Clark upon purchasing the car, there is a slight variation but barely noticeable.
The colour is not what is worrying me at this point its how to tell the difference between a facelift fr bumper and a pre-face lift fr bumper

Sounds overkill.

Plus with the technology these Painters have at their disposal, I understood they could match any colour and make up an identical pot to suit !

..............or was that Dulux / Homebase! :D

I think thats actually quite easy ,
If you look at pictures on both on goole or on here you will notice that the pre f/l is aggressive looking and the newer bumpers are softer on the eye.

There is quite a big difference in the style of the pre facelift and facelift FR bumpers on the front.

The rear bumper is identical so no worries there mate.

Through up a pic of the front FR bumper you are going to purchase and we will tell you if its pre facelift or facelift.

Pre-facelift. ^

(post-FL will have angular/horizontal styling above and below the foglights, whereas Pre is rounded, as above).

Also I was wondering where i would get hold of a replacement plastic panel part in the back bumper? As you can see it is missing from the item.

...on the subject, another giveaway - The line for the lower part of the Grille in the bumper is quite big in the pre-FL, whereas the facelift central grille is smaller and more 'squashed', meaning that bit on the FL grille would look different too.

Yep, that central matt plastic valence section can be picked up complete from SEAT, about £35 all in.
As you have the BARE bumper there, not sure of any other Kit parts are needed or clips etc to fit together.

Standard cutout for the exhaust will be on the Left, probably the same position as your exhaust, single pipe?

Then the numberplate simply screws to the plastic valence using self tapping screws (after the holes have been carefully marked out).
