Hi,

I've got myself a seat 6 cd changer and the data cable that goes from HU to changer, but now don't know whether to get the dealer to fit it, or do it myself? If I do do it myself do I invalidate my warranty? if so how much would a dealer fit it for? or if i do fir it any pointers as to how to feed cable from HU to back of glovebox?

Cheers

Lee

Hi, I got your reply, and thanks :) I'm tempted to do it myself, but really wanted to know whether i'd invalidate my warranty? didn't want to do it, then sometime later something goes wrong and they use the DIY fitted cd changer as an excuss not to get repairs or so done under warranty

The only thing they could invalidate your warrenty on is the HU if you bugger it up while putting the changer in. Otherwise further up the line your fine. It's a Seat changer so they can't claim you're using non standard parts.

I did mine myself with one problem, the space is tiny and scratched my arms trying to squeeze them in the small space

:) how did you feed the cable through? did you feed it through the HU space first or from glovebox? also which small hole did you feed it through? have looked with a mirror and tourch and there appears to be a hole that is used to feed the HU cable through but is quite small?

One arm through the glovebox and one arm through the space where the head unit is, theres a wee gap at the back for the cable to go through, just wound up the excess cable taped it up and stuck it behind the changer
