CD changer /tape/ipod probs..

I have a wreg .cool/s ibiza and I had problems with my stereo so had to pluck for a new one. Didn't get the new console, just the silver box nehind it. I got it off ebay and it was from an S reg ibiza, and I was told it would work.

Anyways, it did but only the radio works. I get no response when I press the tape button on the console. I wasn't too arsed about this as all i needed it for was my tape/ipod thing but i thought i could get a aux in that plugs into the CD changer slot behind the box. So I did. But when I plugged this in and hit the changer button on the console it just reads "changer" for a couple of seconds without actually turning the radio off.

So long story short since gettin the new stero all I can get to work is the radio and the cd changer/ tape is fooked.

My question is, what happens when you normally press cd changer with nothing connected, does it just carry on and flash changer or does it stop the radio or what?

same thing happens when its not connected
it will flash changer at the bottom for about 1 second then shows the radio station again, radio stays on when its pressed

what changer have you got??

It's an aux in connecter so i can attach it to ipods/cd players etc... I've connected it right but it just doesn't stay on it when i press changer

? I don't have a changer in mine. Someone took it out before i bought it :-( So its the same as shaun, just flashes up changer for a second or two and then back to the radio.
What aux input do you have? wouldn't mind getting one myself . well if it works that is.
